Facilities

Hobbs observatory has twin domes, the one to the left in the photo houses a 24 inch Reflector with an alti-azimuth mount, while the dome on the right houses a 14 Meade LX 200 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. In between the two domes is the Elliott Classroom, (named after the driving force in the construction of the observatory and acquisition of the telescopes), an office, library and radio telescope control room. In addition one will find a radio telescope off to the right of the domes. A number of portable telescopes of Refractor and Dobsonian types are also available.

A tour of the facility follows: click on the photo below to learn of each instrument, office, library and classroom.
