Team up and go green! Participating in the annual Earth Week Challenge is a great way to learn how to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle! There's no better time than now to help improve our local environment and save our planet for future generations. And the best part, it is completely FREE to register!

Challenge tasks are designed to be either free or affordable, and will help you save money in the long run all while working to conserve vital resources. The tasks can aslo be easily integrated into most lifestyles even after the challenge is over. Participants will create teams and earn points for their “green” activities and be entered to win prizes!

This year’s Earth Week Challenge will run from April 16-24. As we reevaluate this event and transition to more community-focused tasks, our goal this year is to encourage sustainable and environmental practices among citizens of the Chippewa Valley and to increase involvement in other sustainable community events. Once tasks are completed, groups will be entered into drawings for fun prizes! This year, all prizes will be mailed! So you don't even need to leave your house to win.

Pollinator Run/Walk

Saturday, April 23 at 2:00 PM

BCR Friends $10, Nonmembers $15

UPDATE 4/23 at 11:00 am- The event is still a go and will be outside on our trails. The weather radar looks like skies will be clear by start time. We can't wait to see you all this afternoon!

As part of the challenge this year, we will be hosting a Pollinator Run/Walk to bring awareness to native plants and their pollinators. This run/walk will highlight the importance of pollinators, help us understand the positive effects they have on our environment, and learn what you can do to help! Participants will plant & spread native plant seeds around the Reserve as a way to increase diversity and pollinator habitats at Beaver Creek.

This is not a competitive run, more so a great way to get outside and help our insect friends! After the event, attendees will be able to explore Beaver Creek's trails and Nature Center, participate in other fun activities, and meet local businesses and organizations that also support sustainable initiatives.

Participants will receive a t-shirt for completing the run/walk! Register by Friday, April 8 to guarantee yourself a t-shirt. There will be a limited supply available after the April 8.
