Explore the rich, natural diversity of Wisconsin's Chippewa Valley at Beaver Creek Reserve. Hiking, Snowshoeing,
& Cross Country Skiing
Explore several different habitat types including riparian corridors, different wetland types, a flood plain forest, and an upland forest. Trails throughout the Reserve are open to hikers and those using snowshoes, while trails on the north side (Youth Camp side) are groomed for traditional cross-country skiing. Winter equipment is available for rent at the Nature Center.

Members of Beaver Creek: $3 ski or snowshoe rental
Nonmember Adults:
$6 includes trail fee and ski or snowshoe rental
Nonmember Children:
$4 includes trail fee and ski or snowshoe rental
Registered groups, call for group rates.
Please check in at the Nature Center for current trail conditions. Dogs, horses, bicycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and other motorized vehicles are not permitted on the trails. Beaver Creek is a nature reserve that does not allow hunting, trapping, and picking wildflowers. Fishing is allowed, however, in streams with a valid Wisconsin fishing license and trout stamp.
School & Youth Group Activities
Bring your class, youth group, or club to Beaver Creek Reserve. Stay for a day or a whole week! There are plenty of activities to make learning about nature fun. Naturalists are also available to help you plan your trip. Here are just a few ideas of things your group could do:
Air Rifles - Learn about gun safety and target shooting.
Animal Programs - Learn about different native animals.
Animal Tracking - Learn how to track with your eyes and nose!
Archery - Shoot a bow and arrow!
Bird Banding - Help with a national bird study.
Cross Country Ski - Ski our groomed trails.
Geocaching - Learn how to read a GPS.
Ice Cream Making - Make your own ice cream with snow!
Maple Syrup - See how maple syrup is made hands-on.
Nature Hikes - Play identification games along the way.
Obstacle Course - Try our obstacle course for kids.
Snowshoeing - Learn about snowshoes and try them out.
