Memorial Walkway

In 2017 a large donation from Don and Leatrice Mathison allowed Beaver Creek Reserve to make substantial improvements to our campus. Thanks to this generous donation Beaver Creek Reserve’s electricity needs are now all produced by solar energy, we have installed a brand new parking lot and paved walkway to the north campus, and we are currently in the process of finalizing upgrades to our website and software programs to increase staff efficiency.

To honor the life and legacy of the Mathisons, we have installed a memorial garden and walkway. With the much-needed parking lot expansion came the opportunity to re-landscape much of the front of the Wise Nature Center. The memorial garden is located directly in front of the nature center, adjacent to our newly planted native gardens.

This is your opportunity to purchase a brick in memory or honor of a loved one, or to recognize special occasions like a birthday, anniversary, or other milestone.

If you are interested in participating, simply complete the enclosed form and return by June 1, 2021. Any proceeds from the purchase of the engraved stones will be used to improve and maintain surrounding gardens, purchase additional benches, and to fund areas that help us achieve our mission of connecting people with nature.
